The Learning Development Manager is responsible for improving the development and productivity of GPEC's associates through training. This position evaluates companywide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for associates. This position actively explores, designs and implements effective methods to educate, enhance performance and recognize performance.



  • Develop and implement our corporate learning and development strategy primarily for non-technical training initiatives.
  • Evaluate and monitor the learning and development activity throughout the company to promote continuous improvement through training needs analysis, developing training plans and identifying training resources and materials.
  • Partner with managers, project teams and outside resources to help identify and implement training directives.
  • Utilize Concurrence Learning Management System for scheduling, delivering and recording development and training curriculums and assignments.
  • Develop and maintain systems and processes to establish and maintain effective communication, and confidentiality of information.
  • Develop evaluation systems to ensure that the strategic goal of the learning and development initiatives are achieving a desired return on investment.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Services Manager to maximize training efforts and to minimize duplication between technical and non-technical training.
  • Design and manage a succession and talent planning framework, which includes a schedule of activities, tools and resources that enables leaders to mobilize talent across the company.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of GPEC's business and anticipate future learning and development needs based on business certainties and organizational shifts, making recommendations for changes needed.
  • Drive change management and business cultural transformation efforts to promote a learning environment within the company.
  • Ensure the effective use of resources, e.g. staff, budget, facilities, equipment, supplies

and materials.

  • Stay abreast of new training technology, resources, tools and strategies to ensure the company continues to move forward with effective and current training solutions.


Group Leadership

Provide daily and long-term leadership for the direct report associates to include but not be limited to the following activities:

  • Recruiting/Hiring
  • Coaching/Supporting
  • Conducting Performance Reviews
  • Training and Developing
  • Counseling and Disciplining
  • Dismissing



Bachelor's degree in Training & Development, Human Resources or related field; or equivalent years of experience specializing in Human Resources, Training or Organizational Development; A Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) preferred.

Work Experience:

Minimum 8 years of facilitation and training development experience in a corporate learning function managing the design, development, implementation and assessment of learning and development programs.


Periodic travel overnight and to branch locations may be required.


Experience with Learning Management software systems; Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint). Ability to work independently and handling multiple priorities simultaneously; Excellent internal and external customer service skills.
