Instruction of course work, maintain/development of training aids, and general assistance as assigned to support the Caterpillar program and network.  All responsibilities of a faculty member with the additional responsibilities to participate with Caterpillar Inc. and dealer activities to support the program.



Bachelor's degree in the teaching discipline, or associate's degree and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline.  Work experience with a Caterpillar dealership is required.



Same as listed above; a minimum of three years' as a Caterpillar dealer technician with five years preferred.  Candidate must be proficient in the seven machine systems utilized in Caterpillar equipment.  Excellent communication skills and the ability to model professional behavior is required.  Fabrication skill are a plus.




The job duties must be performed both in an office environment and in the field visiting and working at customer job sites. For these reasons, the incumbent must be able to drive approximately 5,000 to 8,000 miles per year. Must be able to pass a non-regulated DOT physical to operate a truck and trailer combination up to 26,000 lbs. The employee must have the physical capabilities to climb stairs and large pieces of mobile heavy equipment. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee frequently works in precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is exposed to wet/humid condition, fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold or heat. The noise level in the work environment may also be very loud. This function requires normal eyesight to read and interpret technical information, as well as, hearing and speaking ability to communicate with personnel with GPEC, our suppliers and those employed by our customers.
