PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Recruits, screens, interviews, evaluates and recommends qualified candidates for all positions, including equipment service technicians for employment.  Works in conjunction with group leaders in recruiting from employment institutions, training institutions, armed forces and the general labor market.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Recruitment Awareness, Development and Timing

Works with group leaders to:

  • Identify employment needs
  • Develop &/or review job descriptions ensuring duties, background and minimum qualifications are established and position's compensation has been properly established against our labor market.
  • Determine necessary recruiting approach and timetable to fill needs

 Networking and SOURCING

  • Regularly contacts various groups to source for qualified candidates (i.e. educational institutions, armed forces, civic/community groups, employment institutions, etc.)
  • Fully uses the internet and other social media for identifying and recruiting candidates
  • Attends appropriate career fairs
  • Develops and places media recruitment ads as needed
  • Perform recruitment outreach to promote and obtain diversity within the company

  Interviewing Activities

  • Screens and evaluates candidates' qualifications via resumes, applications & brief telephone/personal interviews.
  • Schedule & conduct in-depth qualifying interviews to establish semi-final candidates' eligibility for a position opening.
  • Recommends several pre-qualified candidates to group leaders for final interview and potential selection.
  • Validates final candidate's qualifications by conducting reference checks on educational, work history (usually conducted by phone and/or correspondence) and security background.
  • Maintain applicant log data by ensuring each position is properly dispositioned and closed out within the HCM system. Generate and compile year end reporting of applicant data for Affirmative Action purposes.
  • May periodically conduct Exit Interviews on former associates who voluntarily resigned to better understand their motivation and reasons for leaving, as well as "Stay" Interviews with current associates on why they remain at GPEC. Will compile and share these special interviews' information in a reporting format for additional business use and retention improvements.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 Educational: At least a two-year degree in Human Resources, Business or related field; or equivalent work experience. Prefer a four-year degree in HR, communications or sales marketing.

 Work Experience: At least three years of direct recruiting/interviewing experience.

 Work Schedule: Must be able to work approximately 50 60 hours weekly with some work activities being conducted outside of regular business hours (Mon-Fri; 8 am 5 pm) such as routinely conducting candidate interviews on Sun Thu from 6 10 pm.

 Additional Skills:

  • Must have intermediate PC skills preferably with MS Office and Outlook, as well as, being Internet and Social Media savvy.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift at least 40 lbs. (recruitment information, luggage, etc.)
  • Must be able to travel periodically (~25% of the job) with some overnight stays
  • Must be able to sit at a desk for extended periods using a PC and telephone.
  • Having a solid understanding knowledge of mechanical or electrical skill trades is an asset.
