 Conducts demonstrations to Gregory Poole customers in safety and proper operations of heavy equipment.  Perform delivery and revisit inspections and minor repairs on machines. Calibrate, configure, diagnose machine and attachments with computer systems for proper utilization and performance. Perform trade inspections for the division.


Conduct demonstrations to customers of Gregory Poole Equipment Company in safety and proper operations of heavy equipment by performing the following duties:

Confer with management and staff to determine demonstration needs

 Perform walk around to instruct safety, proper maintenance practices and operator   techniques. Insure machine is properly equipped and set up for job

 Demonstrate procedures being taught, such as equipment operations

 Observe customers operating equipment and answers' students' questions.

 Utilize Cat Electronic Technician to adjust and calibrate system parameters for limiting speed, locking out gears, activating security systems, download Product Status Reports, etc.

 Set Up and calibrate Grade Control and Scale systems as needed


Explain various monitor systems functions and how to adjust on Operator controls for comfort, reaction, and performance


Utilize Cat Vision Link system to locate machines, check systems, and to activate Product Link when required


Conduct Task Training sessions on machines for customers

Assist Gregory Poole technicians with set up if required

Perform machine inspections when a new machine is delivered to a customer

Perform revisit inspection on new machines with in 60 days of being delivered to the customer. Review machine operation and maintenance with the customer and document and schedule any necessary repairs.

Inspect potential trade machines as required. Submit inspection reports electronically per Gregory Poole and Cat procedures.

Assist with make ready for new machines and trades if necessary.

Assist with inventory management.







High school diploma with at least five years' equipment operational experience and 2 years' technical experience.

Ability of read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers of GPEC.




 Ability to add, subtracts, multiplies, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.



 Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.



 Valid state driver license with an acceptable driving record.

 MSHA Part 48 certification



 Ability to use a PC computer and associated software to perform research, and communication.


 Must perform responsibilities either in an office environment or in the fielded visiting and working at customer job sites.

 Must be able to drive up to 20,000 miles annually.

 While performing the job duties must regularly use hands to find, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reaches with hands and arms; climbs or balances; stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls; and talks or hears, as well as, stands, walks and sits.

 Must regularly lift and or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and or move up 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds.

 Specific vision abilities require close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

 Must have the physical capabilities to climb stairs and large pieces of mobile heavy equipment.

 Works near moving mechanical parts and frequently works in outside weather conditions and is exposed to wet/humid condition, fumes or airborne particles.

 Occasionally exposed to extreme cold or heat.

 The noise level in the work environment may also be very loud.

 Requires normal eyesight to read and interpret technical information, as well as, hearing and speaking ability to communicate with personnel with GPEC; and those employed by our customers.

 Having the ability to distinguish color is desired, but not necessary.
